Obituary of Menyhart S Huszti

Menyhart S. Huszti, 79, of Peabody, died early Saturday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Lillian (Muise) Huszti with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Menyhart and Helen (Gesce) Huszti. He later lived in Everett and Malden and has spent the last 48 years living in Peabody. He served with the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. While in the Army he played football, boxed and was a life guard at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. After the war, he worked for Revere Sugar for over 18 years and later he started his own floor cleaning business. He also was a custodian at the West Congregational Church in Peabody for over 21 years. Menyhart was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing and skating. He also enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine E. and Stephen A. Green of Wakefield, two sisters, Elvira Carlson of Reading and Helen King of Malden and a granddaughter, Rachel A. Green, and he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the West Congregational Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
