Obituary of Richard "Richie" Amato

Richard “Richie” Amato PEABODY—Richard H. “Richie” Amato, 64, beloved husband of Carol (Kasenenko) Amato, died peacefully at his home on Thursday morning following a long illness. Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Harry and Evelyn (Vaslet) Amato. He lived in Revere for most of his life where he attended schools. He graduated from Revere High School, then from Salem State College. He lived in Peabody for the last 13 years. Mr. Amato worked as a Bartender at Bertinis, and also worked as a Janitor at Revere City Hall before retiring nine years ago. Richie enjoyed sports, especially golf and played at Salem Municipal Course. He enjoyed classic rock music, and will be remembered for his quick wit and personable nature. He will be dearly missed by family and friends, including: his wife, Carol (Kasenenko) Amato of Peabody, with whom he shared 13 years of marriage; a step-son, Derek Muse of Danvers; a step-daughter, Christine & Scott Hebert of Amesbury; two brothers, Mickey Amato of Denver, CO and James & Barbara Amato of Revere; one sister, Leah & John Korba of Saugus; one granddaughter, Alexis Muse, and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Cremation will follow the ceremony.
