Obituary of Anthony "Tony" Plante

Anthony “Tony” Plante, 49, of Port Orange, Florida and formerly of Peabody, died on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 as results of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near his home in Port Orange, Florida. Born in Salem, he was the son of Carol (Bernard) Plante of Peabody and the late Richard “Maxie” Plante. He was raised and educated in Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools. Tony has spent fours years living in Port Orange, Florida. Tony had been in the tattoo business for the past 30 years. He had tattoo and body piercing parlors in Salem and Seabrook, New Hampshire, Beverly and since 1997, the Shinning Star Tattoo and Body Piercing Shop in Peabody. Tony enjoyed the outdoors and camping and often would travel extensively throughout the United States in his motor home to various tattoo and body piercing shows and bike events. Tony loved riding his Harley Davidson and since 2003, he was a member of the international HOG Association. He also collected miniature model motorcycles. Tony also was a member of the National Tattoo Association and the Association and Professional Tattoo Artist and Body Piercing. Besides his loving mother, Tony is survived by his long time fiancé, Charleen Libby of Port Orange, Florida and formerly of Peabody, his two sisters, Penny and Heidi Plante, both of Peabody, his aunts and uncles, Claire and Leon Pelletier of Wenham, Marilyn Lord of Peabody, Henry and Lorraine Bernard of Salem, Patricia Sarantis of Danvers, Nancy and Daniel O’Connell of Wenham, Brenda and Douglas Beaton of Woburn, Michael Bernard and Doreen Luz of Peabody and Leo Plante of Peabody, a niece and nephew, Cassandra and Thomas Aylward and also survived by 22 cousins and many good and dear friends, and his beloved dog, Max E. Plante. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Ann’s Church,, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
