Obituary of Daisy Frances (Lefave) Atkinson
Daisy Frances (Lefave) Atkinson, 95, of Peabody, wife of the late Walter Atkinson, died after a brief illness on Friday January 18, 2008 at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody. Mrs. Atkinson was scheduled to return to her home on January 10, 2008 but she was stricken with a minor stroke on the 8th.
Mrs. Atkinson was born on January 10, 1913 in Malden daughter of the late Louis and Fanny (Meuse) Lefave. She was raised and educated in Everett and resided in Everett before moving to Peabody many years ago.
Mrs. Atkinson was employed as a supervisor in the housekeeping department at J. B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody until her retirement in 1974. She enjoyed traveling and also playing beano. Her whole life was dedicated to her entire family.
She is survived by her 4 daughters and their spouses, Shirley and Theodore Kobialka of Salem, Daisy and Metzler “Bud” McIntyre, Carol and Richard Smith all of Peabody and Marilyn Bryant of Bradford, PA; a son and 2 daughters-in-law, Robert and Jean Atkinson of Clifton Park, NY and Joanne Atkinson of Salem; a special niece, Muriel Leslie of NJ, 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several other nieces and nephews. Her son William Atkinson and her siblings Joseph and George Lefave, Helen Guptill and Mae Poirier predeceased her.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday January 22, 2008 at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (new location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday 3 to 7 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Memorial contributions maybe made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St. Danvers MA 01923.
