Stephen A. Nowicki
PEABODYStephen A. Nowicki,88, beloved husband of Dorothy (Janowski) Nowicki, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning January 23, 2008 at the Radius Healthcare Center in Danvers after a recent illness.
Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Walenty and Mary (Pigulski) Nowicki. He graduated from Chelsea High School, and attended Northeastern University. He lived in Peabody for the last 56 years.
Mr. Nowicki was employed as a Supervisor for many years at a Danvers plant before retiring nearly 20 years ago.
He honored a Patriotic duty by serving for four years in the United States Army during World War II, and attained the rank of Sargeant.
Stephen was involved in several community activities, especially with the Peabody Council on Aging. He was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans (P.L.A.V.), loved to travel and was an avid sports fan. He was very involved with the St. Joseph’s Parish Community in Peabody before it closed, as a member of the St. Cecilias Choir, the Holy Name Society, and the PTO for their school.
He is survived by: his wife, Dorothy (Janowski) Nowicki of Peabody, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen & Janice Nowicki of Auburn; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa & Donald Maida of Middleboro, MA; four grandsons, Chris and Jonathan Maida, and Michael and Daniel Nowicki, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Anthony and Thomas Nowicki.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a
Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody, with Military Honors.
Memorial donations may be made to the Peabody Council on Aging, 75 R Central St., Peabody, MA 01960.
