Obituary of Robert E. McCulley

Robert E. Bob McCulley, 88 years, husband of Dora R. (LeBlanc) McCulley of Peabody died Saturday at the E.N. Rogers Veterans Hospital in Bedford after a lengthy illness. Mr. McCulley was born July 8, 1914 in Lynn, son of the late John and Mary (LeBlanc) McCulley. He was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School class of 1931. During WWII he served in the Army Air Force with the 1596 Base Unit as an aerial engineer with the rank of Sergeant and saw battle in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. He was employed for 23 years at the General Electric Riverworks in Lynn as an instrument repair technician until his retirement in 1976. He enjoyed golfing with the GE League and bowling with his fellow seniors at the Metro Bowl in Peabody. He was also a very active volunteer at the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center. In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by a son and his wife, Robert H. and Mary McCulley of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Dianne B. McCulley of Danvers; a sister, Claire Danisiewicz of Lynn; three grandchildren, Scott and Jeffrey Paszkowski both of Peabody and Rachel Etzel of Moline, IL; three great grandchildren, Kirsten and Kody Paszkowski of Peabody and Jacob Etzel of IL and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Charles, Henry and James McCulley. His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location 978-531-0398 followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Adelaide Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 5 - 8 pm. Burial in St. Jean Cemetery, Lynn.
