Obituary of Jane M. (Kulaga) Potuwa
Jane M. (Kulaga) Potuwa, of Peabody died early Tuesday morning at Harborside Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John Potuwa.
Born on Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Catherine (Milos) Kulaga. She was raised and educated in Lawrence and has spent the last 60 years living in Peabody.
While living in Lawrence, she attended Macintosh Business School and received her degree in Business Administration. She then worked for Pacific Mill Company in the shipping room for 20 years until its closing.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Peter Cushing of Danvers, a brother, Frederick Kulaga of Andover, two grandchildren, Kimberly Lane of Fort Monroe, Virginia and Janice VanTornhout of Peabody, two great grandchildren, Jahiem and Jamaal Lane, and a third great grandchildren is expected in May. She was the mother of the late Michael Potuwa, and sister of the late Mary and Charlotte Kulaga and grandmother of the late John J. Cushing.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
