Obituary of Helen L. (Gruntkosky) Masino
Helen L. (Gruntkosky) Masino, beloved wife of the late John P. Muzzy Masino, died Saturday at the Blueberry Hill Healthcare Facility in Beverly following a long battle with Alzheimer’ s Disease.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Mary (Otovic) Gruntkosky. She lived in Peabody in her youth and attended Peabody public schools. She moved to Danvers where she lived for over 40 years.
Mrs. Masino worked together with her husband in his family’ s business, the Masino Leather Company of Peabody, for 25 years before her retirement.
She was an active volunteer with the former Liberty Pavillion Nursing Home, now The Greenery, in Danvers, and loved the sociability of having family so she could demonstrate her love for cooking.
She is survived by: two daughters and sons-in-law, Robert & Eleanor Sullivan and Thomas & Ann Marie Crane, both of Peabody; five grandchildren, Lisa Morsett of Peabody, Linda Kuszmar of Marblehead, Michael Crane, Lori Sullivan and Kelly Sullivan, all of Danvers, five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Emily, and Halle Kuszmar of Marblehead and Liza and Lexie Morsett of Peabody, and one brother, John Grant of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Stephen Gruntkosky and Joseph Gruntkosky, and sister Sophie Lavorgna.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St., Peabody of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
