Obituary of Armand P. "Rocky" Verrocchi

Armand P. “Rocky” Verrocchi, 86, of Peabody and formerly of South Boston, died early Monday morning at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Doris (Watson) Verrocchi with whom he shared over 54 years of marriage. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Aurora (Arcioli) Verrocchi. He was raised and educated in Boston and attended Boston Public Schools. Upon marrying his wife in 1954, he built his house in Peabody and has lived there ever since. Rocky was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army and was honorable discharged in June of 1945. Prior to his military service, he served with the CCC, Civilian Conservation Corps. After the war, he embarked on 40 year career as a machinist for the General Electric, River Works Plant in Lynn before retiring many years ago. Armand is survived by two sons, James Verrocchi of Peabody and Andrew and his wife Pam Verrocchi of Monson, two daughters, Laurie and her husband, Gerry Larocque of Bedford, and Nancy Verrocchi of Peabody, two grandchildren Anthony Verrocchi and James Verrocchi and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Lawrence, Salvatore, and Ann Verrocchi and Eleanor Eisman. A family graveside service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Family lot in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
