Obituary of Mary O'Connell
Mary O’ Connell, 80, of Walnut St., Peabody, died early Friday morning at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Born in Charlestown, she was the daughter of the late Patrick & Mary (Deasy) O’ Connell. She had resided in Charlestown for 30 years and later had lived in Somerville for 45 years and has spent the last 3 years living in Peabody.
She was a caretaker of her family and later had worked for 10 years at Boston City Hospital and at Raytheon before retiring many years ago. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’ s Church in Somerville and enjoyed playing Bingo.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel & Sally O’ Connell of Peabody; 5 step nieces and their husbands, Elaine & Joseph Donoghue of Baltimore, MD, Judith & Dr. Christopher Schenk of Wheat Ridge, CO, Suzanne & Eric Kenney of Beverly, Carlene Tarasuk of Kingston, NH, and Sheila & Dick Crotts of Danvers. She was the sister of the late John, William, and Henry O’ Connell and Catherine O’ Connell.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody, Facility (978) 531-0398, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
