Obituary of Josephine (Gryszkiewicz) Wendell

Josephine (Gryszkiewicz) Wendell, 83 years, of Peabody, wife of the late Frank J. Wendell died Sunday at the Salem Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Wendell was born Oct. 28, 1918 in Boston daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Perdstown) Gryszkiewicz. She was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem High School class of 1936. She spent her life raising her family and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a volunteer with the SHARE program at the Peabody Council on Aging. She is survived by her son and his wife, Frank J. Wendell, Jr. and Linda J. Wendell of Peabody; her sister, Anna Horan of Salem; her three grandchildren, Pamela Joya of Bradford, Frank J. Wendell, III of Reading and Thomas Wendell of Peabody; her five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Henry and Mitch Grey and Stanley and Chester Gryszkiewicz. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Cahill-Brodeur facility at 20 Church St., Peabody 978-531-0472 of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 5 - 8 pm. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
