Obituary of Janice R. (Smith) Cabot-Sabatine

Janice R. (Smith) Cabot-Sabatine, 77, wife of Mario Sabatine of Peabody and of the late Donald E. Cabot, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 in Beverly Hospital after a lengthy illness. Janice was born on October 10, 1930, in Somerville, daughter of the late Albert and Frederica B. (Millar) Smith. She was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School Class of 1948. She resided in Somerville before moving to Peabody in 1977. Janice began her secretarial career at John Hancock in Boston. Later and for many years she was the personal secretary to the Dean at Tufts University in Boston until her retirement in 1988. As hobbies, she enjoyed making crossword puzzles, knitting and sewing and was a member of the American Diabetes Association. In addition to her husband 30 years, she is survived by her children, David W. Cabot of Lunenburg and Leslie J. and her husband Charles Piermarini of Fitchburg; a brother and his wife, William A. Millar II and Shirley M. Millar of N. Stonington, CT; a niece, Lee D. Bidwell of Farmville, VA and a nephew, William A. Millar III of Arlington, TN. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., (new location) Peabody. Rev. Ron Chaffee Pastor at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Salem will officiate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
