Obituary of Patricia A. "Pat" (Levesque) Murtagh

Patricia A. Pat (Levesque) Murtagh 67 years, wife of Frederick L. Fred Murtagh of Peabody, died on Monday morning at her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Murtagh was born on March 9, 1938 in Salem daughter of the late Arthur and Amanda (Dionne) Levesque. She was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem High School class of 1956. Following her marriage in 1961 she moved to Peabody. Mrs. Murtagh was employed for 12 years at the Essex County Registry of Deeds in Salem retiring in 2001. Her entire life was devoted to her family and grandchildren. She also belonged to a bowling team at Bowl-O-Mat in Beverly, enjoyed beano and shopping as hobbies. In addition to her husband with whom she shared 44 years of marriage, she is survived by 3 sons and their wives, Daniel J. and Barbara Murtagh of New Fairfield CT, Kevin M. and Cynthia Murtagh of Andover and Gary F. and Jean Murtagh of Long Meadow; a daughter and her husband, Sharon A. and Joseph Amyouny of Wakefield; a brother, George Levesque of Peabody; 6 sisters and 5 brothers-in-law, Anita and John Murtagh, Pauline and Raymond Dube all of Peabody, Claudette and Lionel Thibault, Phyllis and Peter Meaney and Irene Levesque all of Salem and Jacqueline and Robert Caron of Danvers; 13 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her siblings Richard Levesque and Lorraine Tondreault. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. location Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church Salem-Peabody line. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers MA 01923.
