Obituary of Sean F. Mahoney

Sean F. Mahoney PEABODY—Sean F. Mahoney, 50, son of James E. Mahoney and the late Dorothy C. (LaRochelle) Mahoney, died Monday at the Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers following a long illness. Born in Chelsea, he was the son of James E. Mahoney of Peabody and the late Dorothy (LaRochelle) Mahoney. He lived in Chelsea for a short time, then lived in Peabody for the last 43 years. He graduated from Somerville Trade School. Mr. Mahoney worked as a Machinist with Middleton Aerospace for nearly 30 years. Sean enjoyed many social gatherings and Classic Rock music from the 1970’s. As part of hosting, he enjoyed grilling food for guests, and going out on his boat for catching lobsters. He also volunteered with the Haven from Hunger in Peabody for several years. He is survived by: a daughter, Jennifer E. Figueroa of San Antonio, TX; one granddaughter, Mackenzy Rose Figueroa of TX; his father, James Mahoney of Peabody; two sisters, Patricia Blake of Peabody and Carol & John Jacobson of Naples, FL; a brother, James Mahoney of Lynn; two aunts, Dorothy LaRochelle of Chelsea and Irene Cawley of Saugus; three nephews, Sean and Charlie Blake of Peabody, and James Mahoney of Lynn. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (LaRochelle) Mahoney and a brother Dennis P. Mahoney. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 1 - 3 P.M. & 6 - 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. Cremation will follow the Mass. Memorial donations may be made to the Haven from Hunger, 71 Wallis St., Peabody, MA 01960.
