Anthony “Tony” Wojtowicz
PEABODYAnthony “Tony” Wojtowicz, 61, beloved husband of Pat (Varney) Wojtowicz of Peabody, died suddenly Friday evening at the Beverly Hospital.
Born in Danvers, he was the son of Anthony Wojtowicz of Danvers and the late Gladys (Nelson) Wojtowicz. He lived there in his youth and attended schools there. He graduated from Peabody High School where he completed his training at the Vocational School. He lived in Peabody for many years.
Mr. Wojtowicz joined the Teamsters Union in New York and Boston, and was a Car Hauler Truck Driver for many years with M & G Convoy of Ashland.
Tony enjoyed Nascar, Motorcycles, boating, playing cards, traveling to Aruba, planes, and following the NASA Space Program. He valued his family very much, whether taking his grandchildren to their activities and continuing to be a caretaker for his father. He was a member of the William Sutton Masonic Lodge in Saugus.
He is survived by: his wife, Patricia “Pat” (Varney) Wojtowicz of Peabody, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage; a son, Anthony Wojtowicz, Jr. stationed in Alaska with Air Force; two daughters, Christine Archis of No. Carolina and Patricia Lever of Magnolia; his father, Anthony Wojtowicz of Danvers, and preceded in death by his mother Gladys; he leaves a brother, Robert Wojtowicz of Alabama; a sister, Lyn Humes of Somerville; he was a loving & cherished grandfather of Heather and Brandon Wojtowicz of AK, Jennifer and Jessica Archis of NC, Matthew Boulay Marc and Brielle Lever all of Magnolia, and he leaves several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in the Calvary Christian Church, Grove St. Lynnfield to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 P.M.
Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
