Obituary of Bernice M. (Patnaude) Aucella

Bernice M. (Patnaude) Aucella, 82, beloved wife of the late Harold Buddy Aucella, died Sunday evening at the Masconomet Health Care Facility in Topsfield. Born in Melrose, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Beauchamp) Patnaude. During her childhood she lived in Revere, and graduated from Revere High School., Class of 1941. She lived in Lynn for several years, and in Peabody for the last 39 years. Mrs. Aucella worked as a Secretary at North East Airlines for 10 years, and then in the Turbine Division at General Electric Riverworks Plant in Lynn for 10 years before retiring in 1985. Mrs. Aucella enjoyed pastimes of sewing and reading, and she also enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband, and was a communicant at St. Ann’ s Church in South Peabody. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Betty & Stephen Smolski of Ipswich; two grandchildren, Laura and her husband Jeff Lukas and Katherine Smolski, all of Peabody; one brother, Robert Patnaude of Everett; one sister Eileen LeMay of Revere; she was the sister-in-law of Joseph Bruhmuller of Revere, Eleanor Fleming and Lundy Quagenti, both of Chelsea, and Joseph & Rosemarie Crivello of Baltimore, MD, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Delphine Bruhmuller, Kenneth Patnaude, and Florence Greer Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, at the 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St Ann’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Wednesday 4 - 8 p.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Boston Medical Center, 720 Harrison Ave., Suite 707, Boston MA 02118.
