Obituary of Evelina "Lee" (Tremblay) Moran

Evelina M. “Lee” (Tremblay) Moran PEABODY—Evelina M. “Lee” (Tremblay) Moran, 100, beloved wife of the late John D. Moran, died Wednesday February 20, 2008 at the Lafayette Nursing Home in Marblehead following a brief illness. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Marie Tremblay. She grew up in Salem where she attended St. Joseph’s High School. She lived in Peabody for the last 65 years. Mrs. Moran worked in the Payroll Department at Boston University for much of her professional life until she retired. Lee believed in contributing her time in the North Shore communities, and was a longtime volunteer with Salem Hospital and Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehab Hospital, and at St. John’s Church in Peabody. In applying her creative talent, she enjoyed crochet and knitting scarfs for family and friends. One other long-term passion she enjoyed was gardening. She is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, J. David & Pokey Moran of Marblehead; a daughter and son-in-law, Noreen & Stephen Wight of Windham, NH; one granddaughter, Lisa Williams of Andover; two great-granddaughters, Casey and Lindsay Williams of Andover; one brother, Albert Tremblay of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by brothers Renee and Raymond Tremblay, and sisters Marie Theriault, Jeannette L’Hereaux, and Eva Robinson. A Family Funeral Mass was celebrated last Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
