Obituary of Leonard W. "Lenny" Dutille

Leonard W. “Lenny” Dutille, 83, husband of Grace M. (Mallia) Dutille of Harwich, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare of Harwich. Mr. Dutille was born on September 13, 1924, in Peabody, son of the late William and Edna (Wilson) Dutille. He was raised and educated in Peabody. During WW II, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman, First Class and served in the Asiatic Pacific and European African Middle Eastern theaters of operation. He resided in Ipswich for 27 years before moving to Harwich in 1979. Mr. Dutille was employed for 35 years in the maintenance department at Eastman Gelatine Corporation in Peabody until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the K. of C. Leo Council 508 in Peabody, was an avid golfer who also enjoyed gardening and landscaping. In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by an aunt, Antoinette Wells of Peabody; a brother-in-law and 3 sisters-in law, Eugene Zorzonello, Sally Dullea, Sarah Cena all of Peabody and Carmen Stortstrom of MD; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. His siblings Raymond Dutille and Lillian Dziedziak predeceased him. As per his request a private family service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
