Obituary of Henry T Hogan

Henry T. Hogan, 87, of Peabody, died early Wednesday afternoon at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Margaret (O’Leary) Hogan with whom he shared over 64 years of marriage. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Henry T. and Catherine (Haggerty) Hogan. He was a life long resident of Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School. He was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army and was honorable discharged in April of 1946. While in the army he was the recipient of the Victory and Good Conduct Medals, the American Theatre Campaign and European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbons and the Army of Occupation Medal of Germany. After the War, he worked for the General Electric Company in Everett as a Machinist for over 40 years until retiring 25 years ago. Henry was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Leo Council 508 and the Kiwanis Club, both in Peabody. Henry is survived by his children, John “Jack” and his wife Donna Hogan of Peabody, Janice Hannon of Chilton, WI, Henry “Hank” and his wife Kathleen Hogan of Peabody and Mary Ann and her husband Ricky Voisine of Peabody, 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Edward and James Hogan and the brother of the late Joseph and Edward J. Hogan. His visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility. His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 9:00 in St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
