Obituary of Bernice A. (Ripley) Larsen

Bernice A. Larsen PEABODY—Bernice A. (Ripley) Larsen, 83, beloved wife of the late Arthur E. Larsen, died Friday morning at the Pine Rock Manor Nursing Home in Warner, NH following a long illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Agnes (Glencross) Ripley. She graduated from Peabody High School, and then from the Salem Hospital School of Nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she worked at many North Shore hospitals, but principally at Salem Hospital and the J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody. She was involved with the Army Nurse Cadet Program during World War II. She was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Peabody Coordinated Home Health Care Program, serving as its first Administrator until her retirement. Mrs. Larsen was a member of the 2nd Congregational Church in Peabody, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an Advisor with Rainbow Girls in Peabody, a member of the Salem Hospital Alumni Association, and an avid gardener. She was a member of the Garden Club in Silver Lake, NH and volunteered there at the Library. She is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. & Sally Larsen of Northwood, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith & Richard Robertson of Belmont, NH; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald & Barbara Ripley of Rye, NH; a sister Marion Nicholas of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
