Obituary of Fred A. Krochmal

Fred Krochmal PEABODY—Fred Krochmal, 89, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday March 21, 2008 at his home following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Philip and Lucy (Malinowski) Krochmal. He lived in Lynn in his youth and attended Lynn schools. He graduated from Lynn English High School. Mr. Krochmal served a patriotic duty with service in the United States Army during World War II, and was among the first to free prisoners in the concentration camps in the Central European Theatre. He also was stationed in Normandy, the Rhineland, Northern African, and Middle-East Campaigns. He worked as a Machine Operator with General Electric in Lynn until retiring in 1980. Fred lived his life with simplicity and was completely devoted to caring for his late brother, Walter, with his health issues. A few relatives live in the North Shore area, as well as some friends. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday at 10:20 AM for a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn ST. location, Peabody. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
