Obituary of Elanie A. (Cazanas) Cornet

Elaine A. (Cazanas) Cornet, 84, of Peabody, died early Tuesday evening at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul L. Cornet. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Vrettas) Cazanas. She was raised and educated in Lowell and attended Lowell Public Schools. She later lived in Reading, Sarasota Florida for 17 years and has been living in Peabody for the past 5 years. For the past 5 years she was very active at Brooksby Village and was a member of the Red Heart Society among numerous activities she was involved with. She also enjoyed cultural events, the theatre and loved to travel and cook. She is survived by a two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Janice Cornet of Peabody, and Richard and Susan Cornet of Yarmouth, and is also survived by four grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Sharon Saben and James and Buddy Cazanas. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 1 Bromfield St., Suite 5, Boston, MA 02108.
