Obituary of Susan Stamatopulos

Susan Stamatopulos, 80, of Salem died on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Salem Hospital. Miss Stamatopulos was born on October 1, 1927 in Salem daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice (Christodulopulos) Stamatopulos. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a lifelong resident of the city. Miss Stamatopulos was a self employed North Shore hairdresser. Susan will always be remembered as kind, giving person who always placed other’s needs before her own and as someone who enjoyed Winter Island in Salem. A sister, Cynthia Georgelas of Salem; a nephew and his wife, Peter and Joanna Georgelas and a niece, Elaine Georgelas, survive Susan. Her sister Lillian Despotopulos predeceased her. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody. Relatives and friends may pay their respect at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. facility, Peabody on Wednesday morning from 9 to 9: 35 a.m. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
