In 2005 the North Shore Association of Retarded Citizens honored Terri with the prestigious Individual Achievement Award for her outstanding accomplishments. At the age of six she was even featured in the book Like Me by Alan Brightman. Terri was a talented athlete who won many gold, silver, and a few bronze medals at the Special Olympics. She participated in track and field and cross country skiing events, but swimming was her best and favorite sport. In 1984 Terri traveled to the Los Angeles Olympic Games as a national representative of the Special Olympics. Terri had many hobbies and talents. Her embroidered pillow cases, beaded necklaces, and latch hooked rugs are prized possessions of her family and friends. Terri loved all animals, especially cats and butterflies. She also enjoyed Irish and country music. An avid traveler, Terri drove cross country with her sister Eileen. On their journey they saw sights like Graceland and Dollywood and camped out in the Grand Canyon. She also traveled to Hawaii several times as well as throughout Europe. Her favorite destinations were Paris and Maui. In a final characteristically giving gesture, Terri donated her organs to the New England Organ Donor Bank.
