Obituary of Jane E. (Carr) McFarland

Jane E. (Carr) McFarland PEABODY—Jane E. (Carr) McFarland, 58, died peacefully Saturday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers while in the presence of her family. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Phyllis (Kopp) Carr. She lived in Milton in her younger years where she attended St. Agatha's School and Fontbonne Academy. Jane started her professional career with the Gillette Company. She then went on to work for 27 years at Stone & Webster as an Administrative Office Manager. She later worked as a Property Manager and Leasing Manager with Granada Highlands Apartments in Malden. Jane enjoyed being an encouraging and supportive mom and fan of many sports. She loved gardening and being outside with nature, visiting yard sales and traveling. She was a faithful communicant at St. Ann’s Church in Peabody. She will lovingly be remembered for enjoying social gatherings with family and friends, and for her natural gift of making friends easily with her winning attitude and great sense of humor. She is survived by two daughters, Julie McFarland and Justine Stoddard of Peabody; her dear sisters, Phyllis (Carr) Warren & her husband James of Stoneham and Joan (Carr) Smith & her husband Dana of Quincy. She is also survived by her birth mother, Norma MacDonald & her husband Jerome of Dorchester and their family Vivian Thudium, Susan Gillis, Ellen Leonard, Jerome MacDonald, Frederick MacDonald. Jane is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody.
