Obituary of Carol M. (Havican) Day

Carol M. (Havican) Day, 79, died on Monday, April 21, 2008 in Salem Hospital after a brief illness Mrs. Day was born on December 30,1930 in Boston, MA daughter of the late William and Mary (Borre) Havican. Mrs. Day graduated from Newton High School, received her Bachelors degree from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY and her Masters in Education from Boston College. In addition to her home in Bonita Springs she summered in Mashpee, MA. Mrs. Day began her working career as a teacher in Fairfield, CT and Massachusetts prior to becoming a real estate agent for Dunlap Hibbs Agency in Fairfield, CT where she worked for eighteen years. She retired to Bonita Springs in 1990. She is survived by her husband C. Joseph Day, three sons and their wives, Frederick V. McDonald Jr. and Joan McDonald of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Kevin T. and Debra McDonald of Walpole, Brian W. and Kathryn McDonald of Ashland; a daughter and her husband, Karen M. and Ronald Gallagher of Peabody; a sister, Wilma “Billie” Heuter of CA and eleven grandchildren. She was also an avid golfer. Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill- Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation hours are on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be on Thursday at 3 p.m. in St. Thomas Cemetery, Fairfield, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
