Obituary of Mary E. Murphy
Mary E. Murphy, 95, of Peabody died unexpectedly on Tuesday, at the Herrick House in Beverly.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Ellen (Kelly) Murphy. She was a life long resident of Peabody and a graduate of St. John’s High School. She later attended Salem Commercial School.
She worked for over 30 years doing administrative work for the Water Department for the city of Peabody. After her retirement, she enjoyed extensive traveling with her sister, touring the United Stated and abroad, especially in Ireland. Mary was also a long time member of St. John’s Church in Peabody as well.
She is survived by a brother, George Murphy of Peabody, and by seven nieces and nephews, 3 grandnieces and 4 grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Charles, Daniel, James, Nicholas, Jack, Ella, Anna, and Catherine Murphy.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
