Obituary of Nafsika (Sotiropoulos) Simbliaris
Nafsika (Sotiropoulos) Simbliaris 79 years of Peabody, wife of the late George A. Simbliaris, died Friday morning at her home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Simbliaris was born on November 11, 1925 in Ipswich daughter of the late John and Helen (Demetropoulos) Sotiropoulos. She was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School class of 1944. Before moving to Peabody 31 years ago she had resided in Stoughton for 7 years.
Prior to her marriage Mrs. Simbliaris was employed at Friends Bakery in Lynn and from 1974 to 1984 was a co-owner of Women’ s World Health Club. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Daughters of Penelope and St. Vasilios Philoptohos Athena all in Peabody. She along with her friends enjoyed playing beano and nickels.
She is survived by 3 daughters and their husbands, Kristine and Philip D’ Amour of No Conway NH, Kathleen and Gerard Kelly of Canton and Karen S. and Richard Green of New Castle NH; a son and his wife, John P. and Rebecca Simbliaris of Danvers; 4 sisters, Constance Sotiropoulos, Bessie Warner, Sophie Nalesnik and Fannie White all of Lynn; 10 grandchildren, Kristen D’ Amour of NY, Tiffany D’ Amour of NH, Charlene Kelly of Canton, Joseph Kelly of So. Boston, Jennifer Kelly of CA, Alex and Jenna Green both of NH, Nicole, Melissa and Michael Simbliaris all of Danvers; several cousins and many nieces and nephews. A grandson Michael J. Kelly predeceased her.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody followed by a service at 10 a.m. in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 So. Common St., Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8 p.m. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Kelly Scholarship Fund, C/O Canton Co-Op Bank, 671 Washington St., Canton MA 02021.
