Obituary of James F. Beston

James F. Beston, 93, husband of Lilla M. (Connelly) Beston of Peabody, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Renaissance Gardens, Brooksby Village in Peabody. Mr. Beston was born on June 28, 1914 in Peabody, son of the late Michael and Winifred (Caulfield) Beston. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. During WW II, he served in the U. S. Army Air Corps as a Sergeant and saw battle in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operation. He was also a lifelong resident of the City. Mr. Beston was employed for most of his working career at the Public Works Department for the City of Peabody until his retirement in 1982. Jim was an active member of the A.O.H Division 11 in Peabody and enjoyed making crossword puzzles. Surviving him in addition to his wife with whom he shared 60 years of marriage is a daughter and her husband, Judy F. and Scott E. Bozek of Moscow, Russia; 7 grandchildren, Andrew Bozek and Jennifer Smith Bozek of VA, Jeffrey Bozek of Boston, Philip Bozek of CA & PA, Sarah Vose of NV, Allison Vose, Michael Vose and Thomas Vose all of Danvers; a son-in-law, Richard Vose of Boxford and several nieces and nephews. His daughter Elizabeth Vose and his sisters Mary Beauchamp and Margaret LaBonte predeceased him. His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., (location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
