Obituary of Warren J. "W" Zannino

Warren J. “W” Zannino, 84, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Peabody. He was the husband of the late Mary T. (Tringale) Zannino. Mr. Zannino was born on August 10, 1923 in Everett, son of the late Vincenzo and Elena (Divino) Zannino. He was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. During WW II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant and was stationed in the Alusian Island, N. Pacific. He resided in East Boston for many years before moving to Saugus in 1963. Mr. Zannino was employed for 30 years as a developmental jet engine tester at the General Electric Company in Lynn until his retirement in 1981. First and foremost he enjoyed spending time with his family and was also an avid golfer, gardener, card player. He is survived by his 2 children and their spouses, Nadine M. and Timothy Mahoney and John V. and Dolly Zannino of Peabody; a sister, Rose Giannantonio of Malden; 4 grandchildren, Lee Ann Mahoney of Saugus, Krista Mahoney, Anthony and Johnny Zannino all of Peabody; his in-laws, Carmen and Mary Tringale, Joseph and Jeanne Tringale all of Saugus and Sally Zannino of Peabody; a close friend, Joseph and Rita Ippolito of Melrose and many nieces and nephews. His siblings Mildred Carapezzo, Pat, Emedio and Richard Zannino predeceased him. His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., (facility) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Melmark New England, for children with special needs, 461 River Rd., Andover MA 01810.
