Obituary of Michael P. "Fitzy" Fitzgerald

Michael P. Fitzy Fitzgerald 21 years died unexpectedly Friday at his home in Peabody. Michael was born June 4, 1983 in Winchester son of Kathleen M. (Leahy) Vellucci of Peabody and John Sean Fitzgerald of Woburn. He resided in Lowell before returning to Peabody in 2000. Michael had a personality that made people shine and was always willing to help anyone. He loved music, enjoyed playing baseball and watching the Red Sox. As a youngster he would watch Julia Childs on TV and as such later enjoyed cooking. In addition to his parents he is survived by his stepfather, Joseph B. Vellucci of Peabody, a brother, Christopher J. Fitzgerald of Peabody; his maternal grandparents, John H. and Dorothy L. (Accardi) Leahy of Mashpee; a step grandmother, Carmella A. (Baglio) Vellucci of Medford; 2 aunts and 3 uncles, Maureen E. and Robert E. Ahokas Jr. of Middleboro, Kevin Leahy of ME and Gina and Joseph Vellucci - Mirsolo of Rowley; many cousins and close friends. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
