Obituary of Romaine S. (Saponaro) Langone
Romaine S (Saponaro) Langone, 84, of Peabody and formerly of East Boston, died early Wednesday afternoon at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Jerry R. Langone Sr.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Destacio) Saponaro. She was raised and educated in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School. She has lived in Peabody for the past 34 years.
She worked as a telephone operator for AT&T for many years before retiring many years ago. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry R. Langone, Jr. and Mary of Beverly, and is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Brooke and her husband Niten Trasy of Stratford, Ct., Matthew and his wife Crystal Langone of Peabody, and Nicholas and Sam Langone of Beverly. In July she was expecting her first great grandchild. She was predeceased and survived by 7 brothers and sisters.
At the request of the family, there are no funeral services planned at this time.
