Obituary of Mary J. (Lepore) Brown
Mary J. (Lepore) Brown, 90, of Peabody died Monday, May 19, 2007 at the D”Youville Assisted Living Facility in Lowell Ma. She was the wife of the late John B. Brown with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
She was born in Everett, MA on
July 13, 1917, the daughter of the late Raffaele and Giovanna “Jennie” (Digacamo) Lepore and was raised in Everett graduating from Everett high School and resided there before moving to Peabody 44 years ago.
She was a dedicated wife and mother who after raising her family became a teacher’s aide at the Kiley Elementary School in Peabody. She later joined her husband in operating the company he started, the North Shore Courier Service, prior to her retirement 7 years ago.
She had been an active member of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody.
Since moving to Centerfield in Peabody in 1964, she and her husband played cards every Saturday night with their friends and neighbors for over 40 years.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Northern Essex Homemakers Club.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Agnes Brown of Westford, Stephen and Judith Brown of Merrimack, N.H. and David and Jeanne Brown of Methuen, a daughter and son-in-law, Michele Brown-Hall and Laurence Hall of Methuen, a brother Ernie Lepore of Everett, A, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, her sisters-in-law, Mary Bourque of
Billerica, Josephine Lepore of Danvers. She was the sister of the late Albert, Angelo, Anthony, Billie, Charles, Fred, Harry, Joseph, Louis, Mary and Pat Lepore, Dorothy Avjian, Phyllis Carbone and Sue Magliozzi.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from
2:00 until 4:00 PM and 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. (Downtown next to St. John’s Church) Peabody. The family wishes everyone to go directly to St. John’s Church, 16 Church St., Peabody on Wednesday at
9:00 AM for the Mass of Christian Burial. Internment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to D’Youville Foundation, 981 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854 in her memory.
