Obituary of Marie (Pinto) Carter

Mary “Marie” (Pinto) Carter PEABODY—Mary “Marie” (Pinto) Carter, 73 , beloved wife of Rupert Carter, died peacefully at her home following a sustained battle with A.L.S. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Yvonne (Denault) Pinto. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School. Mrs. Carter was a Regional Manager with Anton’s Cleaners of Wakefield for many years. Marie loved life, and valued her family and friends. She enjoyed short travel, visiting casinos, and especially loved dancing with her husband.She was also an avid sports fan who enjoyed the Red Sox and Patriots. Her kind and compassionate nature and dedication to her family will be long remembered by her family who supported her with her health challenges. She is survived by: her husband, Rupert Carter of Peabody, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage; her three sons, William Carter, Ph.D. of Woburn, Paul Carter of Peabody, and Dr. Anthony Carter of Newport News, VA; a daughter, Diana Robertson of Peabody; six grandchildren, Jill Panek, Corey Carter, Joe Panek, Stephen Michaels, Adam Robertson, Zacahary Carter, and Kaitlyn Carter; three great-grandchildren, Reese Panek, Haley Carter, and Jack Carter; her two brothers, Antonio Pinto of Lynnfield and Joseph Pinto of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. A private Family Funeral Service was held in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home with burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
