Obituary of Michael Roy Bucchiere

Michael Roy Bucchiere, 73, of South Peabody and formerly of Saugus, died Saturday at his home after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Claire (Thibodeau) Bucchiere. He was born in Saugus, Ma on Sept, 3, 1934, the son of the late Rosario and Lucy (Coscia) Bucchiere and was a graduate of Saugus High Shoool. He had resided in Peabody for the past 50 years. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he worked for the Mobil Oil Company as a dockworker and a truck driver at the East Boston Tank Farm for over 30 years prior to his retirement 10 years ago. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Truckers Union and served as secretary treasurer of Local 847 there for many years. He enjoyed cooking and being with his family. He is survived by a daughter, Paula Bucchiere of Peabody, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael R. and Katherine Bucchiere Jr. of Fitchburg, MA, 4 brothers, Roy P. and Elizabeth Bucchiere of Swampscott, Francis and Carolyn Bucchiere,and John and Mary Bucchiere all of Saugus and David Bucchiere and his partner, John Hooker of Phoeniz, AZ, two sisters, Julie Rea of Lynnfield and Lucille and Jerome Ventre of Saugus, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and Nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Conway,Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Ann’s Church, So. Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
