Obituary of Priscilla Wilson Blake

Priscilla Wilson Blake, 86, of Peabody, died peacefully early Saturday morning at her home surrounded by her family after a short illness. She was born on July 26, 1921 in Peabody , the daughter of the late Eldon and Gladys (Ware) Wilson and from the time she was six years old she had lived and raised her family on Fairmount Road. She was a graduate of Peabody High School. Mrs. Blake was a sales person at Filene’s Store at the North Shore Mall for over 30 years prior to her retirement in 2005. She had been a life long member of the South Congregational Church in Peabody and was a member of the choir there and was also involved with the Women’s Club and many other activities. She was a talented pianist and in her earlier years played for many minstrel shows. She also liked to work in her garden but she especially enjoyed being with her family. She was the wife of the late Irving Warren Blake. She is survived by her five children, Paul Eldon Blake and his wife Sheila from Greensboro, NC, Stephen Warren Blake, David MacLean Blake and Christopher Alan Blake and his wife Sharlene all of Peabody, and Cynthia Blake Cummings and her husband William Cummings of Spartanburg, SC, her grandchildren, Andrea Jean Blake, William Blake Cummings and Alexander Ware Cummings, Taylor Blake, Ren Alan Blake, Wendy Thomas and David, Matthew and Ashley Blake, 3 great grandchildren, Zachary Blake Waring, Tyler Thomas and Matthew Boyd, a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Donald Foulkes of Fallbrook, CA and several nieces and nephews and close friends. She was the mother of the late Janice Elizabeth Blake, grandmother of the late Jenny Boyd and the sister of the late Robert Allen Wilson. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility. A Memorial Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the South Congregational Church, Prospect St., Peabody with Rev. Grant Hoofnagle officiating. Inurnment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the No Shore, 10 Elm St. Danvers, MA 01923 or the South Church, 60 Prospect St., Peabody, MA 01960 in her memory.
