Obituary of Janet Mary (Martin) Krisko

Janet Mary (Martin) Krisko, 85, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Peter Krisko with whom she shared over 61 years of marriage. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Cecilia (Denault) Martin. She was raised and educated in Beverly and attended Beverly Public Schools. She has lived in Peabody for the past 51 years. Upon marrying her husband in August of 1947, she dedicated herself to her family, children, and later her 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She also enjoyed the mountains, the beach and ocean, walking the mall, working in her garden, knitting, doing puzzles and reading. She especially enjoyed spending quality time with neighbors and watching her grandchildren, and also she was an avid New England Patriots fan. Besides her loving husband, Janet will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her including her children, Janis “Pedie” MacCarthy and her partner, Richard Lunt of Plum Island, Robert Krisko and his wife Jennifer of Byfield, Gary Krisko and his wife Penny of Beverly, Suzanne Kolodziej and her husband Philip of Boxford, and Patti Ann Spongberg and her husband Mark of Hamilton, a sister, Cecilia Wilson of Hampstead, NH, and her 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, also by 2 nieces and 1 nephew. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility with a family service at 5:00 PM to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. For Medical Reason, the family has requested that those attending the services to please refrain from wearing any type of perfume or cologne. The family has also expressed that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, Ma 01923.
