Obituary of Theodore S. Pavenski

Theodore S. “Ted” Pavenski, 85, of Peabody, died peacefully Saturday morning at his home after a year long illness. He was the husband of 56 years to the late Irene C. (Rossi) Pavenski who died in 2003. He was born and raised in Peabody, the son of the late Stanley and Anastasia (Gaiko) Pavenski and had resided in Safety Harbor, Fl after his retirement for the past 13 years. He was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1940 where he played on the Basketball, Football and Track teams. Following graduation he entered the US Marine Corp where he served overseas receiving many commendations and was at Iwo Jima when the flag was raised and also served in the battles in Saipan, Guadacanal and the Solomon Islands. Following his discharge he was employed at the former AC Lawrence Leather Co., Peabody. He later worked for the Perini Construction Company in Boston . He then became a school custodian in the City of Peabody School Department for 20 years retiring in 1984. He was a member and past president of the PLAV, Post 92 of Ipswich and the PLAV Post 56 of Lynn. He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling and was an avid Rex Sox fan. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandie and Louis Farinato of Peabody, a brother, Henry Pavenski of Peabody, a sister, Irene Pappas of Ipswich, 3 grandchildren, Michael Farinato and his fiancée Kerri Jackson, Steven and his wife Rebecca Farinato and Justin Farinato, a great grandson, Antonio Farinato and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Peter and Adam Pavenski, Helen Regali, Alice Wozniak, and Cecelia Klemccuk and the father of the late Teddy Pavenski. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
