Obituary of Lois E. (Bishop) (Carter) Drinon

Lois E. (Bishop) (Carter) Drinon Wakefield—Lois E. (Bishop) (Carter) Drinon, 87, beloved wife of the late William Drinon with whom she shared 49 years of marriage, died peacefully after living with Alzheimer’s Disease, on Friday June 13, 2008 at the Wingate at Reading Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center in Reading. Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Alice (Wiley) Bishop and step-daughter of the late Mildred (Mellett) Bishop. She was raised in Wakefield where she attended schools. She lived in Lynn for many years, then in retirement lived in Wilmington, NC with her husband, and moved back up to the Boston area where she lived the last eight years. Lois attended the Mass School of Art and was a talented Artist. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, and they visited many parts of the world. She will be dearly missed by friends and family, and she was the mother of: Elaine Stonkus of Lynn, Paul Carter of Port Angeles, WA, and Christine Schweizer of Avon, CT; enjoyed her much loved grandchildren, Melissa Stonkus and Amanda Stonkus of Peabody, Timothy Cuozzo of Melbourne, Australia, and Terry Ann Cuozzo of Boston; and she leaves her siblings Doris Rufo of Wakefield, Beverly Bishop of Ipswich, and Stephen Bishop of Reading, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service in celebration of her life on Saturday June 28 at The Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Wakefield at 10 AM. Urn burial will follow in Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. The family also wishes to thank all who cared for her at Wingate at Reading. Cremation service planned with Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to est River Hospice, 1 Charles River Place, P.O.
