Obituary of Alfred E. Venezia

Alfred E. Venezia Revere--Alfred E. Venezia, 89, beloved husband of the late Sarah (Collins) Venezia, died Thursday June 26, 2008 at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Michaelangelo and Rosaria (DeFronzio) Venezia. He lived in the Northend for a few years, and then lived many years in Charlestown. He later moved to Revere where he lived for most of his life, and moved to Punta Gorda, FL in his retirement. Mr. Venezia was owner/operator and Truck Driver for his salvage company. Alfred enjoyed all social activities with friends and family and will be remembered for his baking and cooking skills. He also enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his children, including Helen Venezia and Linda Edmunds both of Peabody, Francis Hayes of Everett, Edward Hayes of Boston, Michael Venezia of Davie, FL, and Jean Cullity of MS, lovingly valued living with 5 generations of family as he was a cherished grandfather to 28 and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother of Helen Barbetta of Charlestown, and he leaves many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his wife, by a son, Daniel Hayes, a daughter Margaret Robinson, brothers Nathaniel, Ralph, Ernest, and Leonard, and sister Viola Catanzarro. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Mass in commemoration of his life on Wednesday July 2 at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Grove St. Lynnfield.
