Obituary of Terence P. "Terry" O'Keefe

Terence P. “Terry” O’Keefe, 46, of Salem died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Burlington Lahey Hospital. Terry was born on November 11, 1961 in Beverly, son of Elinor (Dwyer) O’Keefe of Peabody and the late Timothy J. O’Keefe. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School Class of 1980. He then pursued his education at Salem State College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology in 1986. In 1990 he moved form Peabody to Salem. Terry’s working career began as a security specialist on the North Shore and since 2001 he was employed with the Apollo Security Company of Walpole. As hobbies, Terry enjoyed swimming, boating and alpine skiing. In addition to his mother of Peabody, he is survived by his siblings, Timothy J. O’Keefe and his wife Dianne of Wexford, PA, Thomas M. O’Keefe and his companion Gina Ricciardelli of Epping, NH and Kerin A. O’Keefe-Tenti and her husband Paolo of Lugano, Switzerland; a niece and nephew, Shannon and T.J. O’Keefe of Wexford, PA; 2 aunts, 2 uncles and his many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. in St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. As requested by his family there will be no visiting hours. Burial will be held in Beverly Farms Cemetery, Beverly. Terry had a special love for animals and his family requested that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Angell Memorial Animal Hospital, C/O Development Office, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
