Obituary of Marie A. (Duggan) Sullivan

Marie A. (Duggan) Sullivan PEABODY—Marie A. (Duggan) Sullivan, 80, beloved wife of William J. Sullivan, died Monday evening at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Outram) Duggan. She lived there in her youth and graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1946. She lived in Dorchester a short time before moving to Peabody where she lived for the last 47 years. Mrs. Sullivan worked in the banking field for many years besides enjoying her nurturing role with her family. She was an Overdraft Specialist with Danvers Savings Bank, Conifer Bank, and mostly with Essex Bank at their Peabody location until shortly after their merger with Bank of New England. Marie enjoyed family gatherings and was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody for many years. She is survived by: her husband, William J. Sullivan of Peabody, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage; two daughters and a son-in-law, Maureen O’Boyle of Lynnfield, and Janet & Josh Randall of South Windsor, CT; two grandchildren, Kevin J. O’Boyle and Caitlin O’Boyle both of Lynnfield; one great-granddaughter, Melanie Ann O’Boyle of Lynnfield; one sister, Edna La Farge of Malden, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial park, Peabody.
