Obituary of Nellie Frances (Sieber) Turner

Nellie Frances (Sieber) Turner, 64, of Middleton and formerly of Peabody, died peacefully Thursday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her family at her side after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of James E. Turner. Shewas born Winchester, Ma, on April 6, 1944, the daughter of the late John and Corrine (Dodge) Sieber and had resided in Peabody most of her life before moving to Middleton 9 years ago. She was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1962 and was first employed at the Eastern Bank Company at the main office in Lynn. She later worked at the Pilgrim House Nursing Home in Peabody and then at the administrative office at the former J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody for 10 years. She then became the office manager at the North Shore Recycled Fibers in Salem for the past 14 years. Nellie loved the outdoor life and enjoyed boating and riding her skimobile in New Hampshire. She enjoyed Hiking and traveling to the mountain tops with her ski mobile and spending weekends at her camp in Tamworth, NH. She also enjoyed gardening and wildlife and was a frequent patron of Dailey’s Restaurant in Middleton. Surviving her besides her husband are three sons and daughters-in-law, David S. Dodge and his wife, Ellise Diroma of Putnam Valley, NY, Joseph A. Traversy 111 and his wife Jennifer of Bradford, MA, and John and Laura Traversy of Lynn, MA, two daughters, Kelly A. Traversy and her fiancé, Christopher Gallagher both of Peabody and Karen Traversy of Lynn, a step-daughter, Jamie Elizabeth Turner of Peabody, her eight grandchildren, Samantha and Nicole Dodge, Vanessa and Arianna Traversy, and Justin, Brendan, Olivia and John Traversy 111, and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Stephanie Traversy. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Second Congregational Church, Maple St. Ext. South Peabody. Inurnment will be in Puritan Lawn Mem. Park, Peabody.
