Obituary of Hazele Eleanore (Haines) Towler

Hazele Eleanor (Haines) Towler, 89, wife of the late Harold H. Towler, died on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers with her family at her side. Mrs. Towler was born on May 6, 1919 in Peabody, daughter of the late Clarence and Eva (Larrabee) Haines. She was raised and educated in Peabody and resided in Salem. Mrs. Towler was employed for 8 years in the mail order department at the Deerskin Trading Post until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of the South Congregational Church in Peabody. Her life was dedicated to her family and she also enjoyed arts & crafts, knitting, bowling and playing cards especially when she won. Mrs. Towler is survived by a daughter and her husband, Claire and George Gill of Hendersonville, NC; a sister, Jean Wheeler of Peabody; her grandchildren, Robert Towler of Salem, Timothy Towler of Topsfield, Susan and Mauricio Daher of Waltham, Jodi and Steve Keeler of Franklin, TN and Lisa Hitchcock of Louisville, KY; 8 great grandchildren, Alexandra Towler, Timothy Towler, Isabella Daher, Christian Daher, Elisabeth Keeler, Lee Keeler, Patricia “Annie” Towler and Julia Daher and many nieces and nephews and her extended family at the Cedar Glen Nursing Home with whom she was in residence for the past 21 years. Her son Harold Towler and her sisters Lillian Ricci, Gertrude Moskevich and Shirley Bettencourt pre deceased her. Her funeral will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (location) Peabody. The Reverend Grant Hoofnagle will officiate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
