Obituary of Raffaele Cibelli

Raffaele Cibelli, 77, of Peabody, died early Friday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the husband of Maureen (Douglas) Cibelli of Peabody with whom he shared over 49 years of marriage. Born in Naples, Italy, he was the son of the late Joseph and Angela (Fiore) Cibelli. He was raised and educated in Italy and later immigrated to the United States in the early 1960’s. He has lived in Peabody for the last 35 years. He was a manager for many years at Polcari’s Restaurant, located in Boston's North End, and who retired over 20 years ago. Also, while living in Italy he was a member of the Italian Army. Besides his wife, Raffaele is survived by his children, Angela Puzzo of Middleton and Phil and his wife Anita Cibelli of Lynnfield, a brother, Gigi Cibelli and a sister, Rosita Taiani, both of Italy, and he was the grandfather of PJ, Ryan, Jessica, Anthony, Mikey, Alyssa, and Joey, and great grandfather of Craig. He was the father of the late Ralph Cibelli and Lisa Diamond. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the family lot located in Puritan Lawn Memorial, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility.
