Obituary of Mary Ellen Burke

Mary Ellen Burke, 85, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon at her home. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Delia (Collins) Burke. In her youth, she lived in Nebraska and later in Minnesota and for over 50 years she lived in Wilmington. She has resided in Peabody for the past 3 years. She first started work for the Hood Year Rubber Company in Watertown. She worked in the factory for over 25 years until its closure. She then worked as a sales clerk for the Jordan Marsh Company in Downtown Crossing until her retirement 20 years ago. Mary is survived by a sister, Delia Hurley of Peabody and by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Timothy, Jerry, Michael, and Jack Burke, and Catherine Miloszewski. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 12:00 PM Noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
