Obituary of Evelyn N. (Fraser) Earley

Evelyn N. Earley, 87, of Lynn and formerly of Peabody, died Saturday August 9, 2008 at the Radius Healthcare Center in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late L. Gordon Earley. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, she was the daughter of the late William and Jessie (Hadfield) Fraser. She was educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1937. She later lived in Peabody and in 1980 she moved to Lynn. She worked for over 35 years as a sales clerk in the handbag department at the Filene’s Store at the North Shore Shopping Center in Peabody. She retired in 1985. In addition to her work, Evelyn volunteered for over 25 years at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly. She is survived by three daughters, Lee Gail and her husband Donald Morey of Danvers, Patricia and her husband Dave Maynard of Hernando, Florida, and Noreen “Sue” and her husband Bruce Garland of Peabody, three sisters, Betty Rackley of Falmouth, Eunice Blatchford of Lynn, and Margaret Willett of Rockport, six grandchildren, Debra Crosby of Salem, John Crosby of Tampa, FL., Scott Garland of Peabody, Stacey Fannon of Bethesda, MD, Jason and Erich Morey, both of Danvers, eight great grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Grace and Evan Morey, Rebecca Garland, and Bridgett, Megan, and Gillian Fannon, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Shirley Terry. A Memorial Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2008 at 5:00 PM at the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church on Sylvan St in Danvers to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
