Obituary of Catherine A. (Crean) Connolly

Catherine (Crean) Connolly, 54, of Peabody, died Thursday afternoon at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of Jonathan P. Connolly Sr. with whom she shared over 35 years of marriage. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of Dena (Mallas) Crean of Peabody and the late Francis “Bootsie” Crean. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1971. After High School, she attended North Shore Community College in Beverly. She worked as BSA and Savings Officer for over 15 years at the Marblehead Savings Bank. Catherine was a creative women who enjoyed doing arts and crafts and sewing. She also was an avid swimmer who loved going to the beach and swim in the ocean. Besides her loving husband and mother, Catherine is survived by her devoted and loving children, Jonathan P. Connolly, II of Peabody, Cyndi and her husband Michael Repole of Litchfield, NH, and Kerri Connolly of Lynn, a sister and brother-in-law, Dorene and Richard Mendes of Middleton, two grandchildren, Aaron and Noah Repole, a niece Amelia Mendes of Middleton, and by her German Sheppard, King. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
