Obituary of Antonio C. Coimbra

Antonio C. Coimbra, 85, of Peabody, died Thursday evening at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Beatrice (Ferreira) Coimbra. Born in Mucela, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Hortencia (Conceicao) Coimbra. He was raised and educated in Portugal and in 1963 immigrated to the United States where he settled with his family in Peabody. While living in Peabody, Antonio worked in the leather industry doing various jobs for each company he worked for. He also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the CLC Club in Peabody. Besides his loving wife, Antonio is survived by his devoted children, Maria and her husband William Lazdowski, Rogerio and his wife Maria Coimbra and Antonio Coimbra and his wife Jeanne, all of Peabody, a sister, Helena Da Conceicao of Portugal, 8 grandchildren, Jay Coimbra, William Lazdowski, Jennifer Nelson, Adam, Christopher, Alex, Alana, and Jonathan Coimbra, and is also survived by six great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 CHURCH ST, Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
