Obituary of Norman Paul McCarthy

Norman P. McCarthy, 44, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Saturday evening at Salem Hospital. Born in Saugus, he was the son of James B. and Marcia L. (Davis) McCarthy of Peabody. Norman was raised and educated in Peabody, attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody Veteran’s Memorial High School, class of 1981. He worked as a mason for the Parker Construction Company in Peabody for many years. Norman enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be hunting or fishing, but what he loved the most was being with his family. Besides his loving parents, Norman is survived by his wife Sharon (Smith) Mc Carthy, of Lowell, a daughter, Heather Elizabeth McCarthy and a son, Steven James McCarthy, both of Peabody, a sister, Doreene McCarthy of Peabody and a brother and sister-in-law, James “B” and Darryl Ann McCarthy III, of Peabody, a nephew, James B. McCarthy IV of Peabody, and is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
